Lafayette Community Health Care Clinic's Staff


Jeanette Alcon has served as Executive Director of the Lafayette Community Health Care Clinic since 1994. She has led the Clinic, which opened in 1993, in development of services and recruitment of funds. Through her guidance and managerial efforts, the Clinic has grown from providing basic medical and dental services only, once per week, to an expanded list of seven different clinics serving clients five days a week. Jeanette received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Central Arkansas with emphasis on foreign languages. She received post-graduate training in business administration, personnel management, and fundraising. Serving as founding Executive Director of both the Inter-Tribal Council of Louisiana and the Institute of Indian Development, she established both agencies for the provision of service programs for the development of Native Americans living in South Louisiana. For six years she was co-founder of a firm which provided consulting services to local companies in the areas of personnel, research and development, marketing, business development, and financial recruitment. Jeanette’s civic and professional associations have included positions on several government task forces focusing on human relations, employment training and minority needs. She is a graduate of Leadership Lafayette. She is a presenter for workshops on diversity training and is developing a small business in the telecommunications industry.
 

Judith Perez has been a registered nurse for 24 years.  Judith is a 1982 graduate of Charity Hospital School of Nursing in New Orleans.  She has worked primarily in psychiatric nursing, and has held various supervisory positions in the treatment of children, adults, and elders. Judith has been involved with the Lafayette Community Health Care Clinic since the summer of 2003 when she provided patients with diabetic education as a volunteer.  In May of 2004, she accepted the position of Clinic Administrator.  She was then appointed Director of Clinical Services.  As Director of Clinical Services, Judith also serves as the chairperson of the Community Pharmacy Task Force.

Jessica DeShazo has been involved with the Lafayette Community Health Care Clinic since 2004.  She began as a volunteer, and in 2005 she became the Volunteer Coordinator.  In December of 2006, Jessica accepted the position of Community Pharmacy Manager. Jessica earned a degree in Political Science from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in May of 2005.

Sharon Landry is the Director of Volunteer Services for the Clinic.  She is a retired Bell South Pioneer.  Recently she worked for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana.

Laurie Richard is the Director of Finances. Laurie received a Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration, with a major in Finance from ULL in 1985. She left a 10 year career in the banking industry in 1995 to be a stay-at-home mom. Laurie started volunteering at the Clinic in 1995; Laurie then joined the clinic staff in 1996.

Mary Jo Nance has recently joined the Clinic staff as the Patient Care Coordinator after volunteering as a nurse at the Clinic for some time.

Darlene Lovas is an RN working at LCHCC as a loaned executive from Our Lady of Lourdes.

Becki Cobb is the Clinical Technician.   She began working at LCHCC as an AmeriCorps Volunteer in PAP area of the Clinic.
